- Flashlights are purchased for a number of reasons. If you work at night,
you may use your flashlight for several hours at a time. Rechargeable NiCad
batteries or high-capacity alkaline batteries may be your best option for
reliable and cost-effective power.
- Household flashlights kept near a nightstand or in a kitchen drawer for
emergencies are seldom used. Your best option for cost-effective power
in this case would be the less expensive general-purpose or heavy-duty
batteries. Rechargeable NiCad or high-capacity alkaline batteries would NOT
be a cost-effective solution for this application. To ensure you always have
the power you need, Interstate All Battery Center recommends replacing your
household flashlight batteries annually, when you also replace your smoke
alarm batteries.
